EPO: An Introduction

Equal People Organization was created on December 16th, 1998. Although it has now been more than ten years, EPO still stands to serve the same purpose for which it was formed.  As a general introduction, Equal People's Mission Statement was adopted in order to give a broad idea as to its purpose...

The organizational purpose of Equal People Organization, Inc. is to be a public charity which works towards the fair and just treatment of all people regardless of their disability, ethnicity, gender, income, race, religion, sexual orientation, or social status.  Through education, service, and interaction Equal People Organization stands to nurture acceptance, understanding, and respect for diversity in order to create more promising futures for individuals and their communities.

Based on that simple understanding, Equal People Organization has created a community in which all groups are considered equal.  With the basic knowledge that change can start on a small level and quickly spread to larger populations, EPO has planned and developed several different programs, trainings, and other methods of interaction which directly support the fair and just treatment of all people. 

In The Beginning...

When first formed, Equal People Organization was started as a website that sought to educate and encourage individuals regarding the equality of people.  As interest continued to grow, the website expanded and included many interactive features where visitors could communicate with other people around the world to share ideas, stories, and events.  What was once a small website quickly became a large online community; a network on a global level where others could come for information and reach out to get involved in the areas of human and civil rights.

Sadly, EqualPeople.org also gained the attention of both individuals and groups who wished to spread the ideals and doctrines of hatred and bigotry.  Eventually, EqualPeople.org was hacked by a small hate-group which led to the closure of the website.  However, the planning continued.  While the website was removed from the Internet, Equal People Organization's overall plans remained alive and well.

The Here and Now...

Currently, the website for EqualPeople.org is being re-created using some of the most advanced, interactive, state-of-the-art technology.  As the Internet has grown and developed, so has the technological side of EqualPeople.org.  We plan on introducing many new and exciting features - including features that exist 100% online, as well as types of programs which encourage visitors to become involved within their own local communities.

In 2008, Equal People Organization also became incorporated in the state of North Carolina.  We plan to start by developing groups around the state, while also maintaining the online presence that Equal People was originally known for.  As programs continue to grow and develop, along with interest in the organization, Equal People Organization has every intention of creating programs around the country and throughout the world.

Looking to the Future...

Equal People Organization will continue to grow and develop by bringing programs that encourage the fair and equal treatment of all people.  While maintaining an online environment for people to communicate around the world, we will also create programs throughout local communities, states, and countries.  By ensuring that we use the most up-to-date and tested types of programs and training - we will continue to work towards making the world a better place...
